Pretty smooth loan experience

So, I finally got around to refinancing my old dental school loans with ELFI. I was a bit nervous about the whole thing, but it actually went pretty smoothly. The website was easy to navigate, and I liked that they had a specific option for dental school loans. Good rates, minor speed bump

I refinanced my MBA loan with ELFI. The fixed rate I got was very competitive, better than what SoFi offered me. The application itself was pretty easy to fill out. My only minor complaint was that getting a hold of a loan advisor took a couple of tries, but once I connected with someone, they were helpful. The overall value is definitely there, especially with the autopay discount.

You typically just click the referral link your friend sent you to start your application. It usually doesn't involve typing in a code, the link itself tracks it. The cash bonus usually pays out after a few payments on the new loan.

Just use the link to start. There isn't a 'promo code' box like for online shopping, it's all handled through the specific link. The bonus took a couple of months to hit my account after I started paying.

Does ELFI do a hard credit pull just for checking rates or does that come later?

Nah, they do a soft pull first to give you an estimate. The hard pull usually happens if you decide to go ahead with the actual loan application, after you've seen the rates.

I think it's just a soft pull for the initial quote. That's how it worked for me, didn't ding my credit just to see what they'd offer.
